Chaos Meter is a two-player game. One player secretly rates a situation from 0 to 10; the other guesses that number. A session runs 12 cards and takes roughly 8 to 15 minutes.
1. Setup. Open the game, pick your situation packs in the deck builder, then enter both player names. The deck is dealt automatically: 12 cards, split evenly across every pack you selected, and never repeating a card you have already played.
2. A round. The scorer reads the card and secretly sets the slider from 0 to 10, then hands the device over. The guesser sets the slider to the number they think the scorer chose. Both numbers are revealed together.
3. Scoring. Points depend only on the gap between the two numbers:
• Exact match — the guesser scores +5.
• Off by 1 — the guesser scores +2.
• Off by 2 — nobody scores, and a penalty card is drawn.
• Off by 3 or more — the scorer takes points equal to the gap, and a penalty card is drawn.
The logic is deliberate: guessing well earns points, and being wildly misread rewards the person who was misread.
4. Penalties. A gap of 2 or more triggers a penalty card. Two penalty packs ship free — physical dares and social-media dares — and you can turn either or both off in the deck builder to play with no penalties at all.
5. Compatibility. At the end of the session you get a compatibility tier rather than a raw percentage: Twin Flames, Strong Bond, In Sync, Warming Up or Total Chaos. It is based on how often your numbers matched, not on who won.
6. Deck builder. Select at least one situation pack to play. With several packs selected the 12 cards are split evenly between them. “Reset Cards” clears your played-card history per pack, so a deck you have exhausted becomes available again.
7. Extra packs. Optional one-time purchases. After buying you receive a license key by email; enter it under “Extra Packs” to unlock the cards. Each key can be activated up to 30 times, so you can unlock the same pack on a new phone or after clearing your browser data.
8. Play from anywhere. You don't have to be in the same room. Choose Challenge a Friend instead of a normal game: rate 12 situations, get a link, and send it. Whoever opens it guesses your ratings on their own device and sees how well they know you — the link carries the whole game, nothing is stored on a server.
